How SASSA sets the dates
SASSA pays grants as early as possible each month, staggered over three days: usually older persons first, then disability grants, then children's grants (Child Support, Foster Child and Care Dependency). According to the Department of Social Development, SASSA avoids paying on the day after a public holiday, on the 1st of the month, on a Monday or over a weekend.
The 2026/27 schedule was approved by National Treasury on 20 March 2026. SASSA can still change a month, as it did for November 2026 ahead of the Local Government Elections. When that happens we show the new dates, the old dates and the announcement.
Grant-in-Aid, war veterans and SRD
The Grant-in-Aid is paid with the grant it is added to. SASSA's schedule does not list the War Veteran's Grant separately, so confirm your day with SASSA. SRD (R370) payments are not on this schedule: check your own date at srd.sassa.gov.za.
Payment did not arrive?
Wait a day or two after your group's date, check that your grant is not under review and that your bank details are up to date, then call SASSA on 0800 60 10 11. See reviews, suspensions and missing payments.

When is the next SASSA payment?
See the panel at the top of this page. It lists the next official day for older persons, disability and children's grants, using only dates SASSA, the Department of Social Development or National Treasury has announced.
Why were the November 2026 dates changed?
SASSA revised the November 2026 dates ahead of the Local Government Elections, with National Treasury's approval (SASSA media statement of 14 October 2026). Older persons are paid on Friday 30 October 2026, disability grants on Monday 2 November and children's grants on Tuesday 3 November. A fourth-day payment on 5 November 2026 is for beneficiaries whose grants are under review.
Do I have to withdraw my money on the payment day?
No. Once your grant is paid it stays in your account. SASSA asks beneficiaries not to rush to pay points or offices on the first day.
When will the April 2027 dates be announced?
We do not know yet. The 2026/27 schedule was approved by National Treasury on 20 March 2026, just before the financial year started. Until SASSA announces the 2027/28 dates, we show those months as "not yet announced".
Where are the SRD R370 payment dates?
The SRD grant is not paid on this schedule. Each approved applicant gets their own payment date, which shows on the status page at srd.sassa.gov.za.
